In conventional medicine, there is a specialist for each part of your body – a cardiologist for your heart, a podiatrist for your feet, a neurologist for your brain and central nervous system, a gastroenterologist for your digestive system, a dermatologist for your skin, an ophthalmologist for your eyes and so on.
Unfortunately, conventional medicine often treats only one part of the overall problem on an acute basis and the treatment rarely leads to long-term relief and wellbeing.
With Live Well Health’s personal approach to healthcare and medicine, we see the body as an interconnected system. We understand that, in order to treat one part of the body, all other parts must also be considered.
We spend a great deal of time with patients; listening to their stories and past health experiences, and assessing their lifestyle – including exercise, sleep, nutrition, diet and stress levels. We take the information and results of a full blood chemistry test and then use our systems-oriented approach that considers your specific needs and goals.
We work with you to determine the source of your issues and identify obstacles standing in the way of your better health and wellness. With you, we work to find a complete solution.
The principles of our personal approach to medicine are:
- complementary to, and inclusive of a variety of treatment options.
- science-best based and developed with the most recent research.
- holistically driven.
- focused on optimal health – not just the absence of symptoms or disease.
- requires patients to take an active role in managing their health.
- includes a preference for natural, non-toxic therapies that harness the body’s ability to heal itself.
Consultations and Fees
During your first appointment, which lasts approximately 90 minutes and can be performed in our office or via telemedicine, we conduct a very thorough investigation of all aspects of your lifestyle; including exercise and sleep habits, nutrition, diet and stress levels. We also want to hear what you have tried in the past, and what brought you to Live Well.
During the first appointment, your bloodwork is also reviewed and explained in detail. Your initial treatment protocol involving safe, holistic therapies will be developed, and this may also include recommendations for dietary changes and supplements.
Your bloodwork is re-evaluated in about six weeks, to ensure the treatment plan is working and desired changes are occurring. A follow-up appointment is booked after about 6 months (or once stable) – again in our office or via telemedicine.
